Case Study — Heritage Restoration
A 1968 Omega Seamaster, Stopped for Twelve Years
The Situation
The watch had belonged to a client's grandfather and had not run since the early 2010s. Several attempts at basic service elsewhere had failed to restore reliable running. The original dial — important to the family — showed signs of age that previous repairers had suggested replacing.
What We Did
Full strip-down revealed a cracked mainspring and worn keyless works. A replacement mainspring was sourced; worn keyless parts were fabricated on-site. The dial was stabilised and cleaned conservatively rather than replaced. The case was polished only on surfaces where the client agreed.
The Outcome
The watch now runs within 8 seconds per day across five positions. The original dial was preserved intact. The client collected it after four weeks and described it as exceeding what they had hoped for. The piece will be worn daily.

Case Study — Maintenance Service
An Everyday Wearer, Nine Years Past Its Service Interval
The Situation
A client's workhorse automatic — worn six days a week — had not been serviced since purchase. It was running approximately three minutes fast per day and the crown had begun to feel stiff. The client was unsure whether the problem was serious.
What We Did
Assessment confirmed dried lubricants and a worn winding crown gasket. Full movement service was carried out — disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication to grade, and reassembly. The crown and stem were replaced. A timing measurement was taken before and after.
The Outcome
Post-service timing showed +4 seconds per day in the flat position. The client collected ten days after drop-off. The condition report noted that no further concerns were found, and the watch was given a clean bill of health for the next five to seven years of regular wear.
