Why Boon Horology
A Workshop Built Around Patience
We take on only what we can do well, and we share what we find — plainly, without pressure.
Transparent Assessments
Every watch is assessed and reported honestly. We describe what we find in plain language and let you decide how to proceed.
Specialist Horological Skills
Movement work, hand-making parts, dial conservation — skills built over years of careful practice on mechanical timepieces.
Written Plans Before Work Begins
For restoration especially, a written plan is agreed before any work starts, so there are no surprises along the way.
Service Warranty
Completed maintenance work carries a service warranty — our way of standing behind what we do.
No Pressure, No Unnecessary Work
We never encourage work beyond what the watch needs. Honest advice, even when it means doing less.
Open to Questions at Any Stage
We welcome questions before, during, and after service. You should feel at ease with what is happening to your watch.
Is Your Watch Overdue for Attention?
Many watches run for years past a sensible service interval. A brief conversation costs nothing, and we are always glad to take a look and share an honest view.
Common Questions
Things People Often Ask
How do I know whether my watch needs a service?
If your watch is running noticeably fast or slow, feels dry on the crown, or has not been serviced within the last five to seven years of regular wear, it is worth a conversation. Bring it in or call us — we are happy to take a look and share a view without any obligation.
How long does a maintenance service usually take?
A standard maintenance service is generally completed within one to two weeks, depending on our current schedule. For heritage restoration, the timeline is discussed and agreed individually — some watches require weeks of careful work, and that is reflected in the written plan we share before starting.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work on mechanical and automatic watches across a broad range of makes. Vintage and collectible pieces are particularly welcome. If you are unsure whether your watch falls within what we do, a brief call or message is the easiest way to find out.
What does the bracelet and strap service include exactly?
It covers anything connected to how a watch wears on the wrist — strap replacement, metal bracelet adjustment or cleaning, link removal or addition, and case surface tidying to a degree you choose. We agree the scope before beginning, so there are no unexpected additions.
Is a written quote provided before work starts?
Yes. After the initial assessment we share a written summary of our findings and an outline of the proposed work and cost. Nothing proceeds until you have read it and are comfortable. For restorations, a full written plan is prepared at the outset.
What does the service warranty cover?
Our service warranty covers the specific work we have carried out. If a problem arises that is directly related to the service performed, we will address it. The warranty applies to maintenance and completed repair work; it does not extend to accidental damage or external causes.
Can I visit the workshop before deciding?
You are welcome to visit us at Mittraphap Road during our opening hours. Bring your watch along if you like — an in-person conversation is often the easiest way to discuss what it might need. No appointment is strictly necessary, though calling ahead is always appreciated.
